Axel Biermann has been the full-time Managing Director of Ruhr Tourismus GmbH since 2008 and Chairman since 2023.
After completing his studies, the geography graduate worked in this position at Verkehrsverein Saarburger Land e.V. and then at Tourismus & Marketing Oberhausen GmbH for over ten years.
The 59-year-old is also Deputy Chairman of Tourismus NRW e.V. and a member of the Tourism Committee of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the General Assembly of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr and Oberhausen.
Born in Stuttgart, he lives in Oberhausen.
