Rodolfo Baggio

Professor Università Bocconi

With a degree in Physics, he has a PhD in Tourism Management from the University of Queensland, Australia.

He is teacher and coordinator of the Digital Strategies area of the Master’s in Tourism Economics and Research Fellow of the Dondena Center for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policies of the Bocconi University of Milan.

He is also a professor at Tomsk Polytechnic University (Tomsk, Russia). Prior to these positions, he worked for over twenty years in IT and telematic networks, with experience at various companies, in Italy and abroad.

His current research concerns the use of technologies in tourism, the study of complex systems and the application of analysis and simulation models of complex networks to tourist destinations.

He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a member of the Italian Society of Physics, and one of the founders of Società Internet, the Italian section of the Internet Society.

In 2017 he received the Hannes Werthner Tourism and Technology Lifetime Achievement Award from IFITT (International Federation for IT and Travel & Tourism).
