On 31 October 1620, Philip III of Spain signed the charter establishing the University of Cagliari.
Today, the University is organised into six faculties and 15 departments dedicated to achieving its primary objectives: research, teaching and its third mission, serving the innovation required by today’s knowledge society.
Over 24,750 students are enrolled in 47 three – year and single – cycle degree courses, 38 master’s degrees, 34 specialisation schools, 16 doctoral courses and 5 active master’s programmes.
