Paloma Zapata is the CEO of Sustainable Travel International, where she leads global efforts to maximize tourism’s contribution to environmental conservation and community well-being.
With over 18 years of experience, Paloma has successfully directed sustainable tourism and economic growth initiatives in more than 30 countries.
She spearheads the organization’s Climate Action program, engaging the tourism industry through measurement tools, decarbonization strategies, and climate finance, while guiding destinations toward implementing a pioneering NetZero model.
Before joining Sustainable Travel International, Paloma held leadership roles at Tourism & Leisure Advisory Services and IBM, where she registered three patents.
She holds degrees in Tourism Management and Business Administration (MBA) and is fluent in English and Spanish.
