Sandro Formica

Positive Leadership Professor Florida International University

Of Italian-American background, Sandro Formica is a Professor and Chair of the Leadership Program at Florida International University (FIU).

In the organizational field, Sandro has worked as a consultant and trainer for entrepreneurs and executives in industries such as sports (Miami Heat), international hotel chains (LVMH, ACCOR, Intercontinental, Holiday Inn), and pharmaceutical and chemical companies (Philip Morris and AptarGroup). He has also led think tanks in Europe and the United States and designed development projects in Mongolia, the Caribbean, and Europe.

Since 2018, Sandro has been a featured keynote speaker at the World Happiness Summit each year. He is the creator, coordinator, and lead instructor of the Chief Happiness Officer certification in Hospitality, by FIU.

Sandro serves as Co-Director of the Research Unit on “Positive Organizational Behavior and Human Capital” at Sapienza University of Rome. His latest book, “Personal Empowerment: Empower the Leader Within You”, is grounded in scientific research and offers a practical approach with over 200 exercises to increase wellbeing and profitability.

Forbes magazine labeled Sandro as “The Happiness Scientist”.
