Founder NomadSister

Christina Boixière, founder of NomadSister, is a French and Taiwanese backpacker who has explored more than 35 countries on her own. It all began at 17, on her very first solo trip: in Thailand, a woman hosted her and showed her the country through local eyes. She never traveled the same way again.

At 20, seeing how many women held back from traveling, worried about safety or loneliness, she wondered: what if every woman on the road was hosted by a friend she hasn’t met yet?

In 2019, she left her corporate job to make it real. Born for solo travelers, NomadSister is now a global community of sisterhood of more than 40,000 women in over 100 countries, traveling alone, with friends or children. They meet, support and host one another as volunteers, out of solidarity and the joy of making new friends. Strangers become sisters, and each journey gives them the courage to go further.

Her mission: a world where women travel freely and feel at home wherever they dare to go.
