First-time experiences, detours, encounters: What are we really looking for when we travel?

A child having his first experiences, a guest who needs a place to stay, a traveler who plans so he can get lost, a group of bicycle travelers bringing cinema to places where there isn’t any. Four perspectives and a shared question: What are we really looking for when we travel, and how much room do we leave for things to simply happen?

From listening as a design method to deliberate “gaps” in itineraries, the panel seeks to redesign the travel experience based on what cannot be planned: discovery, spontaneity, and reciprocity.
