Serena is a Tourism Account Manager at Etifor | Valuing Nature, an environmental consulting firm and spin-off of the University of Padua that develops science-based solutions for local communities by placing nature at the center of decision-making.
Her educational and professional background combines firsthand knowledge of the diverse world of tourism (from cruises to community-based tourism projects in Nepal) with technical expertise in implementing sustainable tourism and participatory processes. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Participatory Design (IUAV University of Venice) and was selected in 2025 for the Ecosystem Builder Program for Climate Leaders in Europe.
Serena, together with Etifor’s Tourism team, supports public and private stakeholders in managing the impacts of tourism on communities and ecosystems, guiding them in the transition toward sustainable and regenerative models, in accordance with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s international sustainability standards. Her goal is to facilitate collaboration between the market, communities, and environmental protection to co-design and finance concrete solutions that support local areas.
