Eugenio Giani, born in Empoli in 1959, has been the President of the Tuscany Region since October 2020.
A law graduate, his political career has included serving as a city councilor for Florence in charge of Sports, Culture, and Folk Traditions, as well as holding various other portfolios since his first election in 1990. From 2009 to 2014, he served as President of the Florence City Council. From 2015 to 2020, he served as President of the Regional Council of Tuscany. He has always been a great enthusiast of culture and sports.
