THE DATA LANGUAGE. When data becomes a common language

Tourism generates an increasing amount of data, but the benefit does not lie in simply possessing it; rather, it lies in being able to transform it into information that is understandable and shared by local decision-makers. Institutions, businesses, destination management organizations, operators, and communities often view the same phenomena through different indicators, metrics, and languages.

The challenge is to build a common foundation. Dashboards, destination intelligence platforms, and new visualization tools can make complex phenomena easier to understand, facilitate dialogue among different stakeholders, and guide strategies, investments, and operational decisions.

The panel explores the shift from data as a technical asset to data as a shared knowledge infrastructure: not just measuring what happens, but working together to understand what it means and how to act. A destination truly becomes data-driven when data becomes part of the language through which the community shapes its own future.
