My name is Gerardo Gondi. I am a winemaker and the guardian of a family tradition deeply rooted in the heart of Tuscany and in the history of Florence. The Gondi family has owned Tenuta Bossi, in Pontassieve in the Chianti Rufina region, since 1592; ours is an ancient Florentine family with records dating back to the 13th century.
After earning a degree in Economics in Florence and a MISA Master’s degree from Bocconi, and following stints at Assicurazioni Generali and in the RFID sector, I returned to the company in 2014 and have been leading it since 2017. Today, I divide my time between wine, olive growing, and hospitality, working across our estates and at Palazzo Gondi.
I am guided by an absolute respect for the terroir: I have focused my efforts on showcasing 100% Sangiovese, the grape variety that best captures the soul of Chianti Rufina.
I have served as vice president on the board of the Chianti Rufina Consortium since 2019, and as of June 2025, I will serve as its president for the 2025–2027 term.
A great wine isn’t complete without the story of the place where it’s made: that’s why we invest in wine tourism and rural hospitality. My goal is to ensure that every bottle continues to tell the story of the excellence and passion my family has dedicated to Tuscany for centuries.
