The most dynamic destinations no longer compete solely to attract visitors, but also to attract people who can bring skills, connections, ideas, and new energy to their regions. This challenge links regional appeal, economic development, public policy, and philanthropy.
Drawing on the experience of Tulsa Remote—an international best practice that has combined regional marketing with a successful partnership between a tourism organization and the philanthropic sector—the panel explores how attracting talent and new residents can serve as a driver of regional development.
The dialogue with Fondazione CDP and the Puglia Region places this reflection within the Italian context, to understand how the public sector, philanthropy, and local stakeholders can work together as a system—especially in the South and in the most vulnerable areas—to create the conditions for people to arrive, work, build relationships, and choose to stay.
